Camilo Sesto was a Spanish singer-songwriter, musical producer, painter, and poet, born on September 16, 1946, in Alcoy, Alicante, Spain. He passed away on September 8, 2019, in Madrid, Spain, at the age of 72 due to kidney failure. In the 1960s, he sang in two pop bands, including Los Dayson, and participated in the 1967 Spanish film "Hamelín." He later collaborated with a singer and producer, but his significant success came from his own music works. Camilo Sesto sold over 175 million albums worldwide, not including the sales from other artists he produced. As a composer, he wrote songs for various artists throughout his career and remained one of the most influential pioneer artists of rock and ballad music in Spanish, inspiring many newer acts in the Latino music scene. He was also the father of one child.
