Captain Rock, whose real name is Ronald Wayne Greene, was a prominent figure in the NIA label known for his energetic performances and classic tracks. He gained recognition with hits like "Cosmic Blast," "To the Future Shock," and "Return Of Captain Rock," which showcased his unique style reminiscent of George Clinton. In addition to these, he released tracks such as "You Stink" and "Bongo Beats," which leaned more towards straight rap compared to his electro tracks. His debut, "Cosmic Glide," reflected the pre-electro disco-funk rap style that was popular before the groundbreaking "Planet Rock." A celebrated showman in Hip Hop, Captain Rock captivated audiences with his live performance at UK Fresh 86. Ronald Wayne Greene passed away on May 16, 2021.
