Claude Vasori, known by his stage name Caravelli, was a prominent French orchestra leader, composer, and arranger of orchestral music. Born on September 12, 1930, in Paris, he was the son of an Italian father and a French mother. Vasori began his musical education at the age of seven, learning piano and voicing/harmony from his mother. At thirteen, he furthered his studies at the Paris Conservatoire. Caravelli is recognized as "Caravelli And His Magnificent Strings" in the UK, US, South American, and Japanese markets from 1966, while his earlier work in the French market spanned from 1960 to 1966. He passed away on April 1, 2019, in Le Cannet.
