Carl Craig, born on May 22, 1969, in Detroit, USA, is a pioneering figure in electronic music and the founder of Planet E Communications. Over the past 30 years, he has supported a diverse range of international artists across genres such as hip-hop, jazz, funk, and esoteric electronic sounds. Operating under various aliases, including 69, Paperclip People, and C2, Carl has produced six albums and over 600 remixes for renowned artists like Depeche Mode, Tori Amos, Kenny Larkin, and Kevin Saunderson. His work earned him a Grammy nomination in 2008 for his remix of Junior Boys’ “Like A Child.” Carl initiated the Detroit Love event series and played a significant role in the city's electronic music festival at the turn of the millennium. He also created the “All Black Vinyl” Instagram series, which evolved into the “All Black Digital” partnership with Beatport and Qwest TV in 2022, featuring discussions with Black artists and live streams from South Africa. This partnership included a Black History Month DJ mix for Apple Music and educational talks at NYU and Michigan State University.
