Carl Jacobs, known for his calypso and soca vocals, grew up in Success Village, Laventille, and attended St Mary’s College. He began his musical journey in the 1960s with the community group Host of Others. Throughout his career, Jacobs has shared stages with notable performers such as Strollers, Sparks, Blue Veils, Sparrow Troubadors, Michael Boothman & Family Tree, Dennis de Souza, Charlie’s Roots, and Shandileer. He also performed alongside his wife Carol as part of their act, Carl and Carol. After spending over two decades in Miami, USA, Jacobs is in the process of returning permanently to Trinidad to reunite with his family, which includes his wife Carol, daughters Carla and Caryl, and son Cyle.
