Carl Perkins was an American rockabilly musician and songwriter, born on April 9, 1932, in Tiptonville, Tennessee. He earned the nickname "the King of Rockabilly" and was recognized for his contributions to music by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Additionally, he received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award. Perkins passed away on January 19, 1998, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was the brother of two individuals and the father of four children.
