Carlos Roman was a Colombian guitarist, singer, bandleader, and composer known for his contributions to the Vallenato style. Born in 1919, he was the brother of singer Romancito and was part of the band Los Vallenatos de Magdalena in the early 1950s, alongside the Velásquez brothers, Aníbal (accordion) and Juan (caja). After his brother's death in 1955, Carlos took over the vocals and was also known by the nickname "Gran Romancito."
