Carol Douglas is an American disco and soul singer born on April 7, 1948, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. She is known for her one-off recording in 1963, where she released the single "I Don't Mind (Being Your Fool)." In 1974, she gained significant recognition with her hit "Doctors Order," earning her the title of "First Lady of Disco." Douglas is also noted for her covers of popular songs, including "Light My Fire," "My Simple Heart," "Dancing Queen," and "I Want To Stay With You." Throughout her career, she recorded six albums from 1975 to 1983.
