**Bio: Loy Ehrlich** Loy Ehrlich is a multi-instrumentalist who joined the Caméléons in Reunion Island in 1977. The group, which included notable musicians like René Lacaille and Alain Peters, was responsible for recordings and productions at the newly established Royal studio in St Joseph. In 1979, following the disbandment of Caméléons, Loy founded the group Carrousel in Etang St Leu, alongside Alain Peters, Bigoun, Joël Gonthier, Bruno Leflanchec, and Zoun. Carrousel distinguished itself by performing original music labeled "tropical rock," blending maloya, séga, rock, jazz, and reggae, which set them apart from other local bands of the time. To gain recognition, they organized free concerts across the island and opened for the group Téléphone at Stade de l'Est in 1980. After some lineup changes in 1981, Carrousel released their first and only album, "La vie est un mystère," in 1982, followed by numerous concerts. The group concluded its activities in 1983 with a final concert at the St Gilles theater before Loy returned to France. In 1994, they reunited for two special concerts to celebrate the reissue of their LP on CD, featuring Alain Peters as a guest.
