Casimir Lètang, also known as Kazo, was a Guadeloupean born on April 28, 1935, in Pointe-à-Pitre, where he developed a deep fascination for music and poetry during his childhood. He was a multifaceted artist, serving as a poet, singer, songwriter, and radio host on Radio Guadeloupe for approximately thirty years. As a pioneer in his field, he was one of the first to promote Gwoka music and to utilize Creole on public radio in the 1960s. Casimir Lètang passed away in 1996.
