Castello Branco is a Brazilian singer, composer, and instrumentalist born on December 11, 1986, in Rio de Janeiro, RJ. He spent his formative years from age three to 16 in the ecumenical monastery Núcleo de Serviço Crer-Sendo in Teresópolis (RJ), where he learned to play the guitar. After returning to Rio de Janeiro at 16, he later settled in São Paulo. In 2004, he formed a band and performed alongside artists such as GB and Eric Kendi. The band released an EP in 2009, featuring several of his original songs, including the music video for "O mito do insubstituível," co-written with Larissa Silva, which aired on Multishow, MTV, and Play TV. He won the "Nokia Xpress Bands Festival" in 2008 but left the band in 2011 to pursue a solo career. In 2013, he participated in the event "Dobradinhas e outros tais" and released his first solo CD, which included 11 original tracks and led to tours in Brazil and Europe. He published a poetry book titled "Simpatia" in Portugal in 2016, which sold over five thousand copies, and produced several editions of the German electronic music party Kubik in São Paulo.
