Caterina Valente was an Italian (naturalized French) singer, guitarist, dancer, and actress, born on January 14, 1931, in Paris, France. She passed away on September 9, 2024, in Lugano, Switzerland. Valente was the sister of an unspecified individual and was married twice: first from 1952 to 1971 and then from 1972 to 1979. She had a son from her first marriage. Her father was an accordionist, while her mother, Maria, was a virtuoso musician who played 33 instruments and was a ballet dancer in Vaudeville. Caterina Valente was active as a recording artist from 1954 until 2001 and retired from show business in 2003.
