Cecil Shaw Jr. is the son of Brother Cecil L. Shaw, who was known for singing sanctified gospel in the 1950s. He was a member of a vocal trio alongside Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo, and he released solo singles on their Bill-Mar label.
