Celi Bee, born Celida in New York, is an American singer of Puerto Rican descent who rose to fame during the Disco era. As a child, she returned to Puerto Rico with her parents, where she met and married Pepe Luis Soto. Together, they formed a duo called Celine y Pepe Luis, achieving moderate success in the 1960s until their split in the early 1970s. In 1972, Celi won first place at the Festival De La Voz y La Cancion with her song "Yo Quiero Un Painter." Shortly after, she and her husband moved to Britain, where she recorded the single "Half A Love," which gained popularity in Puerto Rico and made an impact in England. In 1977, during the rise of Disco, Pepe encouraged Celi to record an album titled "Celi Bee & The Buzzy Bunch" for T.K. Records. This album featured six tracks, with "Superman" and "One Love" becoming hit singles. The following year, her album "Alternating Currents" produced her biggest hit, "Macho (A Real Real One)," showcasing a striking contrast between her vocals and the album cover's androgynous image. In 1978, Celi released her third album, "Fly Me On The Wings Of Love," which included two of her own compositions, "Boomerang" and "Can't Let You Go." Her last major work, "Blow My Mind,"
