Celluloïd Mata is a French project created by Matthieu Maire, who initially released music independently before signing with the French label Noise Museum. Known for producing heavy ambient music infused with rhythmic noise, Mata's compositions exhibit a natural electronic quality that conveys a sense of "quiet force." The diverse range of sounds in his work softens the impact of intense techno-tronic oscillations, while dark breakbeats maintain a cohesive sonic experience. After six years and multiple releases across various labels, Maire decided to discontinue all activities under the Celluloid Mata name. He now collaborates with Philipp Münch (of Synapscape and Ars Moriendi) to produce music as Cell Auto Mata.
