Centipede was a jazz/progressive rock/Canterbury sound big band formed in 1970, organized and led by a British free jazz pianist. The band featured over 50 members, bringing together many young British jazz and rock musicians from various bands. Centipede performed a limited number of concerts due to the size of the band and recorded one double-album, "Septober Energy," produced by an unnamed individual, which was released in 1971.
