Chaba Zahouania, born Halima Mazzi on May 15, 1959, in Oran, is an Algerian singer known for her contributions to Raï music. She began her career in a female ensemble of Medahates, which are traditional Algerian vocal groups that perform at family celebrations in the Oranie region. In 1981, she released her first recording, and by 1986, she gained significant recognition with her hit "Khali Ya Khali," a duet with Cheb Hamid. Her popularity soared in 1987 with the provocative song "El Barraka," which she performed alongside Cheb Hasni.
