Chalo Correia, born in 1968 in Luanda, Angola, is a musician influenced by revolutionary bands such as Os Merengues and Os Kiezos during his childhood. He moved to Portugal in the early 1990s to study and work, determined to pursue a career in music. Chalo Correia's band embodies the vibrant sounds of Semba and Rebita while staying connected to the modern urban Afro music scene in Lisbon.
