Chanson is a disco-soul duo that emerged from a diverse group of studio musicians. The group is led by a bassist, who is the son of a famous bassist, and a guitarist. They met while playing in the road band of a well-known artist, which sparked the idea for Chanson. The duo released two albums featuring hits such as "Don't Hold Back," "I Can Tell," and "Jack Be Nimble." By 1980, they returned to studio session work, and together or separately, they contributed to numerous pop, rock, R&B, and disco tracks.
