Chantel Curtis was a French vocalist from Tunisia, best known for her Disco hits "Get Another Love" and "Hit Man," which were released in America on the Key Records label. Discovered by producer Pierre Jaubert in the late 1970s while she was in Paris, he was captivated by her voice and offered her a chance to sing professionally. Curtis's career took a tumultuous turn following the release of her first album, as her relationship with her boyfriend, talented arranger and pianist Philippe Briche, led her into a struggle with hard drugs, resulting in some time spent in prison. During her incarceration, Jaubert released songs she had recorded, including "Can't You Feel It" and "Disco Dance," under the pseudonym Michele. This album was released in France on Epic Records and in America on West End Records, with "Disco Dance" becoming a notable hit. In 1979, Curtis and Jaubert collaborated on the album "Get Another Love," which gained significant popularity in American discotheques and radio stations. Tragically, Chantel Curtis was murdered in Israel in 1985, reportedly the victim of a bullet intended for her boyfriend, according to her producer Pierre Jaubert. Born in Tunisia in an unknown year, Chantel Curtis's life was cut short in 1985 in Israel.
