Charanjit Singh was an Indian musician born on December 15, 1940, in Mumbai, and he passed away on July 5, 2015. He performed in numerous Bollywood soundtrack orchestras during the 1960s and 1970s. Singh led a wedding band and recorded several albums featuring cover versions of popular songs. Although his album released in India in 1983 was initially a flop, its discovery in 2002 and subsequent re-release in early 2010 catapulted him to fame among DJs and electronica music enthusiasts. This album is credited as one of the earliest acid records ever made.
