Charles Brown was a highly influential blues and rhythm & blues singer and piano player, born on September 13, 1922, in Texas City, Texas, USA. He began his career in the mid-1940s and went on to make countless records throughout his life, with his last album for Verve released in 1998. Brown passed away on January 21, 1999, in Oakland, California, USA. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 as an Early Influence.
