Charles Gross (born May 13, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American composer and conductor renowned for his film and television scores. He studied at Harvard University, where he earned his BA, as well as at the New England Conservatory and Mills College. Gross began his career in film in the early 1960s, achieving recognition with his score for the 1971 western "Valdez is Coming," starring Burt Lancaster. He reached the height of his success in the 1980s and early 1990s with notable film scores for "Heartland," "Country," "Punchline," "Turner & Hooch," and "Air America."
