Charlie Whitehead (September 12, 1942 – June 26, 2015) was a soul singer from Franklin, Virginia. He moved to New York City in 1968 and was signed to Musicor's R&B subsidiary. At Dynamo, Whitehead collaborated with other artists, writing songs for performers such as Dee Dee Warwick and Doris Duke, including Warwick's 1970 hit, "She Didn’t Know (She Kept on Talking)." He released only one single on Dynamo before following his collaborator to Canyon Records. In 1970, under the name Charlie Whitehead, he released a self-titled album, which was produced and mostly written by his collaborator. An additional song, "Songs to Sing," was recorded for the album but was not included; it was later released as a single on United Artists.
