Charlie Byrd was an American jazz guitarist, renowned for his interpretation of Brazilian music, particularly the Bossa Nova genre. He was born on September 16, 1925, in Suffolk, Virginia, and passed away on December 2, 1999, in Annapolis, Maryland. Byrd was known for playing a classical guitar with nylon strings using a fingerstyle technique.
