Cheikh El Hasnaoui (1910–2002) was a Kabyle singer born in a small town near Tizi Ouzou in Kabylia, Algeria. Originally named "Si Muḥ n Aɛmar u Muḥ," he later adopted the name Mohamed Khelouat, which was common at the time. He was known for singing Algerian chaabi music and, along with Slimane Azem, played a significant role in laying the foundations of modern popular Kabyle music during the 1950s and 1960s. Cheikh El Hasnaoui passed away in 2002 in Saint Pierre de la Reunion, France.
