Cheikha Rabia, born in 1943 in Relizane, Algeria, is a Franco-Algerian singer known for her contributions to traditional and electronic Raï music. A descendant of the Meddehates, she is recognized as one of the prominent figures in traditional Algerian Raï, infusing her performances with a resonance that reflects her Bedouin heritage. After living in Oran and Algiers, she moved to Paris in 1977.
