Cheo García, born on May 1, 1926, in Maracaibo, Zulia state, is a renowned figure in the guarachas singing style in Venezuela. He began singing as a child, initially dedicated to the Virgin Mary, "La Chinita." At the age of nine, he started his musical studies and quickly achieved recognition as a tenor with the company "Estampas Líricas en Miniatura." In 1956, Cheo joined Juanito Arteta's Orchestra, marking his entry into Venezuela's principal dance orchestras. He later became a guarachero with an orchestra that gained popularity as a dance singer. In 1960, he was offered a position by the master Billo Frometa in his prestigious orchestra, where he performed for over two decades. After leaving Billo's Orchestra, García was sought after by other orchestras, continuing for two years before joining "La Tremenda" and eventually founding his own group with his colleague Memo Morales. Cheo García continued his career as a soloist, occasionally performing with the orchestra of Billo Frometa's son, Charlie Frometa. He passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 1994, during a show in Paracotos. García is remembered as one of the best guaracheros in America.
