Cheryl Lynn is an American R&B/Soul and Disco singer, born on March 11, 1957, in Los Angeles, California. She is known for her powerful voice and impactful contributions to the music industry. Cheryl gained recognition after her memorable appearance on the TV special "Gong Show," which led to her signing a contract with a record label. Early in her career, she sang backing vocals for the hit "Georgy Porgy" and co-wrote her first hit, "Got To Be Real." Over the years, she released a series of nine successful albums between 1978 and 1995, produced by notable figures in the industry. Cheryl has collaborated with various artists, including duetting with another singer on a cover of Marvin Gaye's "If This World Were Mine." Some of her other notable hits include "Shake It Up Tonight," "In the Night," "Star Love," and "Encore." In 2004, she recorded "Sweet Kind of Life" for the soundtrack of the animated film "Shark Tale" and has also provided backing vocals for several artists throughout her career.
