Chico Che y la Crisis is a musical group founded in 1969 by Chico Che and a saxophonist. After some time, they continued to seek opportunities until they connected with promoter Jesús González Del Callejo, who advised them to choose a name that reflected the realities of Mexican popular culture. In 1972, amidst rumors of a serious economic crisis in Mexico following the entry of Luis Echeverría as President, the group adopted the name "La Crisis."
