Chico Montenegro, born on October 2, 1952, in Bairro Prenda, Luanda, Angola, was a talented composer, percussionist, and singer. He began his musical career in the choir of the Methodist Church and later joined the Carnival group Kasolas do Prenda. In 1965, he formed a band with Verry Inácio (drummer), a singer, a guitarist, and Kangongo (bass guitar). Chico Montenegro passed away on October 12, 2019.
