DJ Chosen Few was the alias of Dutch hardcore producer Michel "François" Prijt, who was also the head of a music collective alongside Shelley Webb. He began his journey in hardcore music at the end of 1991, becoming a resident DJ in a small club located in Amsterdam's red-light district. His first international booking came in 1993 in Austria. Over the years, he performed at over 1000 events, including notable festivals such as Mayday in Berlin, Nightmare in Rotterdam, Mayhem and Enchanted in Australia, and Thunderdome in Utrecht, as well as celebrating various anniversaries of Thunderdome. His performances spanned across countries like Poland, Hungary, Russia, the United States, Sweden, and Switzerland. DJ Chosen Few's musical style was characterized by a blend of early hardcore, gabber, up-tempo hardcore, and a strong influence of drum & bass. Although primarily a solo project, he collaborated with others between 2008 and 2013. Tragically, François passed away on 14 October 2025 at the age of 53.
