Chris Muñoz is a Houston-born multi-instrumentalist whose musical journey began at age 12 when he taught himself guitar by ear. By his senior year at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, he had already performed with jazz luminaries like Wynton Marsalis and McCoy Tyner. Relocating to New York City, Muñoz became a touring member of The Rapture, the first band signed to James Murphy's DFA label. As a producer, he released a 12" under the moniker Heroes of the Galleon Trade on Golf Channel Recordings, earning acclaim from DJs like Harvey and Gilles Peterson.
