Chris Thompson is a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter born on March 9th, 1948, in Ashford, Kent, England. Raised in New Zealand, he is best known as the vocalist for a prominent band, contributing to many of their hits. Throughout his career, he has also performed with various artists and released several solo records. Thompson collaborated with a Norwegian guitarist who provides live support for him and his band. In the early stages of his career, he adopted the middle name 'Hamlet' to differentiate himself from another folk singer of the same name from New Zealand. It is important not to confuse him with an Australian indie rock producer/engineer.
