Chron Gen was a punk band hailing from Hertfordshire, UK, originally active from 1977 to 1984. They reformed in 2013 and continued until their final split in 2022. The band's name is a contraction of "Chronic Generation." The lineup included Glynn Barber on vocals and guitar, and John Johnson on drums, both of whom were with the band throughout its entire run, from 1977 to 1984 and then again from 2013 to 2022. Other members included Jon Thurlow and Pete Dimmock, who played guitar and bass respectively from 1977 to 1982, and Mark 'Floyd' Alison, who took over guitar duties from 1982 to 1984. Roy Horner joined as a bassist from 1982 to 1984 and returned in 2013, while Fraser Britten played guitar from 2013 to 2022. Tragically, Mark ‘Floyd’ Alison passed away on 31 October 1999, and Pete Dimmock died on 12 August 2011.
