José de Jesús "Chucho" Ferrer Villalpando (1929–2011) was a distinguished Mexican musician and arranger whose prolific career left an indelible mark on the nation's musical landscape. Born into a family of musicians, Ferrer pursued formal studies in harmony, composition, and instrumentation at Mexico's National Conservatory of Music. Over his extensive career, he crafted more than 8,000 musical arrangements across genres such as bolero, rock, ranchero, and classical music. Ferrer collaborated with a multitude of renowned artists, including Agustín Lara, José José, and Luis Miguel.
