Jesús Chucho Rodríguez Ramírez, known as Chucho Rodriguez, was a Mexican pianist, arranger, composer, and orchestra leader born in Chihuahua on July 11, 1908. He completed his studies as a Normalist Teacher and worked in that profession for three years before pursuing his passion for music. He studied at the Free School of Music in Mexico City, where he learned to play the piano, double bass, violin, organ, and guitar. Chucho was involved in various musical groups, particularly in the tropical genre. He considered 1942 as the beginning of his career as a composer, with his work gaining exposure through XEW. His first song, "Cosas del ayer," co-authored with Ramón Márquez, was performed by Genaro Salinas and recorded by RCA, marking the start of his professional journey in music. Chucho passed away on February 6, 1991.
