Churchills is a psychedelic and hard rock band from Israel, active from 1965 until 1973, then again in 2015, and from 2018 to the present. The band was named after the original guitarist, whose appearance reminded the other members of a young Winston Churchill. In Hebrew, they are known as הצ'רצ'ילים, which translates to "The Churchills." When they relocated to England and signed with a British label, they temporarily changed their name to Jericho Jones due to concerns that an Israeli band named Churchill's would not be well-received. The original Israeli release and some reissues of their second album list the band as Jericho Jones in English and הצ'רצ'ילים in Hebrew. The name was later shortened to Jericho for their third album. After returning to Israel in 1972, they reverted to their original name and, following some personnel changes, became The New Churchills before disbanding. The four surviving members from the 1970-72 lineup reunited for two concerts in 2015, which led to the release of a new double live album. On February 3, 2020, they released a single titled "Messianic Times," marking their first new studio recording since 1972.
