Chute Libre was a French jazz band hailing from Boulogne-Billancourt, a suburb of Paris. Known for their fusion records that showcased a pronounced funk sound, the band was formed by a group of talented musicians, including flautist Denis Barbier, keyboardist Olivier Hutman, saxophonist Pierre-Jean Gidon, and drummer/percussionist Mino Cinelu. The members had previously played in various groups, making Chute Libre a sort of supergroup. The band disbanded in 1979 after releasing two albums.
