CINDYTALK is an experimental music project formed in 1982 in Edinburgh by Cinder and David Clancy, emerging from the remnants of the Scottish punk band The Freeze. Over the years, they have released work with various labels, including Midnight Music, World Serpent, Praxis Records (as Bambule), Klanggalerie, Lumberton Trading Company, Remodel (Japan), Editions Mego, and most recently, False Walls. The project has seen collaborations with a diverse range of artists such as Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, Kathy Acker, Alasdair Gray, Chris Connelly, Somatic Responses, Fire At Work, Robert Hampson, and Toby Reynolds. Known for their fluid experimental framework, CINDYTALK integrates sampling, musique concrète, and electronics alongside disintegrating rock structures. Cinder remains the only consistent member in a constantly evolving lineup that continues to perform live and release new music. As of January 2026, the current live band lineup includes Cinder, Massimo Farjon Pupillo (Zu), and Thighpaulsandra (Coil). Two new albums are set for release in January 2026: "That We Must Pass Through This Life" (digital issue on January 16) and "Sunset And Forever" (double vinyl issue on January 30).
