The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) is an internationally celebrated orchestra based in Birmingham, England. Founded in 1920, it is a family of talented musicians led by Music Director Kazuki Yamada. The CBSO is proud to create exciting musical experiences that resonate with audiences. Resident at Symphony Hall, the orchestra performs over 150 concerts each year in Birmingham, throughout the UK, and internationally, showcasing a diverse repertoire that includes classics, contemporary pieces, soundtracks, and symphonies. For more than a century, the CBSO has played a vital role in music-making in the Midlands. Through extensive community and education projects, choruses, and youth ensembles, the orchestra continues to foster a lifelong love of music among audiences and musicians across Birmingham, the West Midlands, and beyond.
