CJ Bolland, born in 1971 in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, was raised in Belgium from the age of three. Growing up in a family that ran a club in Antwerp, where his mother DJed, he was immersed in dance music from an early age. Influenced by various eras of synthesizer music, Bolland focused on house and techno by the late '80s. He began producing music in 1988 after gaining access to equipment from a drummer friend, which led to his tracks being played on Belgian pirate radio stations. His first significant break came when he produced "Do That Dance" for R & S, launching his career. Bolland released music under several projects, including Pulse, Space Opera (with Cisco Ferreira), Cee-Jay, Ravesignal, and Sonic Solution. His 1992 "Ravesignal 3 EP," particularly the track "Horsepower," established him as a prominent figure in the global dance community. He made his album debut with "The 4th Sign" and was active in production and remixing for various artists, including The Prodigy, during 1993-94. His second album, "Electronic Highway," was released in 1995, followed by a significant five-album deal.
