C.L. Blast, born Clarence 'Junior' Lewis, was a US soul singer and songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. He began his recording career in New York in 1954 for Red Robin label, releasing one single in 1955. By 1960, he recorded at least three more singles for Robinson's Fury label, using his given name on one and Little Junior Lewis for the other two. Throughout the early 1960s, Lewis also recorded for Columbia, Scepter, and MGM. He reemerged in 1967 as C.L. Blast with a single released on both a main label and its subsidiary, Hip. Around 1970, Blast made several records under the direction of various producers. He passed away on February 26, 2016, in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
