Clarence Carter is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on January 14, 1936, in Montgomery, Alabama. Blind since the age of one, he taught himself to play the guitar at the age of eleven. In the 1960s, he teamed up with vocalist and pianist Calvin Scott to form the duo "Clarence & Calvin," recording for Fairlane. Carter is a Grammy winner.
