Clarence Reid was a Southern soul singer, songwriter, producer, and arranger, born on February 14, 1939, in Cochran, Georgia. He passed away on January 17, 2016, in Lauderdale Lakes (Ft. Lauderdale), Florida. In his youth, Reid walked to Miami, Florida, where he began his music career, performing in nightclubs in Overtown with his band, The Delmiras, which was sometimes spelled as Delmyras, Delmirals, or Delmiros.
