Claude Peloquin was a Canadian poet, writer, singer, songwriter, screenwriter, and director, born in Montreal on August 26, 1942. He passed away on November 25, 2018. In 1964, he co-founded the improv group L'Horloge with Serge Lemoyne, Yves Hébert, and Jean Gauguet-Larouche. He participated in developing a performance show with the group Le Zirmate. Peloquin wrote the lyrics to several songs, including his most famous works, which earned him the Félix-Leclerc Award for Best Canadian Composition Of The Year in 1969. In 1971, he released his first solo album, featuring music that blended electronics with traditional sounds. In 1977, he released another album, and in the mid-1980s, he returned to songwriting through Robert Charlebois, contributing lyrics for an album that achieved limited success. After living in the Bahamas during the 1990s, he returned to Québec and recorded a new album of songs and poems.
