Claudette et Ti Pierre were a celebrated Haitian musical duo formed in 1977 near Port-au-Prince, comprising vocalist Claudette Pierre-Louis and blind organist Ulrick "Ti Pierre" Pierre. Their music, characterized by the harmonious blend of vocals, organ, and drum machines, resonated throughout the Caribbean and Africa. Between 1978 and 1990, they released ten albums, including the notable "Camionette" in 1978, featuring the hit song "Zanmi kanmarad," which addressed themes of gender equality. Tragically, during the 1991 coup in Haiti, Ti Pierre was killed in a house fire, and Claudette relocated to Canada.
