San Francisco-based artist Coatshek, also known as Sheki Cicelsky, is a visionary in the ambient techno scene. His debut album, "Sound Bath," released on August 1, 2025, is a masterclass in slow and sultry ambient techno. Inspired by Pink Floyd, Manuel Göttsching's "E2-E4," and DJ mixes from friends Nick Moss and Matthew Paul, Coatshek crafted the album using a few synths, his Telecaster, and "lots of delays, reverb, and weed." The album features tracks like the effortlessly grooving "Softest" and the psych-laced "Triple Virgo." "Sound Bath" was initially commissioned for the SoundBaths series by the now-defunct poppers brand Double Scorpio, aiming to create mixes for an imaginary queer bathhouse. The album's cover was designed by Coatshek's fiancé, Nate Sprecher, with photographs by Luke Kraman taken at The Ever Afters campout.
