Combo Chimbita is a dynamic band rooted in Colombia and based in New York, consisting of powerhouse vocalist Carolina Oliveros, synth and bassist Prince of Queens, guitarist Niño Lento, and drummer Dilemastronauta. As first-generation New Yorkers, they have been playing together for years, experimenting with various traditional musical styles during their late-night residencies at Barbès in Brooklyn. The band explores the connections between visual identity and improvisational long-form trips, coming together as a four-piece after encouraging more vocal contributions from Carolina Oliveros, who enhances the rhythm with her guacharaca.
