Commix, the creative home of George Levings, is a name synonymous with forward-thinking Drum & Bass, operating at 170bpm. Originally a trio, Commix rose to prominence in the early 2000s and made history with their debut album, ‘Call To Mind,’ which was the first solo artist album released by the iconic label Metalheadz. The lead single, 'Be True,' has become an anthem in Drum & Bass history, and the album is widely regarded as one of the best D&B LPs of all time. As a DJ, Levings focuses on deep, experimental, and musical sounds, blending his extensive experience in both Drum & Bass and 4x4 genres into a captivating mix that transcends traditional categorization. However, in June 2023, it was revealed that Levings had been offering music tuition without providing lessons for three years, resulting in a debt of approximately £10,000 owed to 25 individuals. This controversy led to Commix being removed from the artist rosters of Metalheadz and Hospital Records, and the Drum and Bass community has distanced itself from the name Commix. The initial information regarding this issue surfaced on the Drum and Bass online forum DOA (Dogs On Acid).
